SAIRC is run by students, not a company, and we do not sell anything. That keeps this page short.

What we collect

• If you become a member: your name, email address, and whatever you choose to put in the optional fields of the signup form. The form is hosted by Tally.
• If you submit research: your name, email address, affiliation if you give one, and the paper itself. Also hosted by Tally.
• If you post on the forum: the name you post under and the content of your post, both of which are public.
• If you take one of our surveys: only your answers. The forms are anonymous and do not collect email addresses.
• If you just read the site: anonymous page view counts through Vercel Analytics. It does not use cookies and does not follow you between sites.

What we do with it

We email members when a new issue of the journal or the newsletter goes out, we email authors about their submissions, and we use the aggregate view counts to decide what to write more of. That is the full list of uses. We do not sell data, run advertising, or share anything with third parties beyond the services named below.

Services we rely on

• Vercel, which hosts the site and provides the analytics
• Supabase, which stores the journal and forum content
• Tally, which runs the membership and submission forms
• Google Forms, which runs our surveys
• Dropbox and Google Drive, which host our PDFs and newsletters

Each of these has its own privacy policy, and your data sits with them under their terms as well as ours.

Young people

Most of our members are teenagers, as are we, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and would rather we did not hold your child's information, email us and we will delete it.

Getting your data removed

Email sairc.support@gmail.com and ask, and we will remove your membership record, unsubscribe you, and take down or anonymise your forum posts if you want that as well. Published papers are more complicated, since other people may have cited them, so tell us what you are after and we will work it out with you.

Changes

If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it, so there should never be a version of this policy in force that is not the one you can read here.
