Using this site means agreeing to what is set out below, which we have tried to write plainly enough that reading it is not a chore.

Who owns what you submit

You do. Publishing with us does not transfer copyright. What you give us is permission to host your work on this site, list it in our index, and include it in the newsletter and RSS feed. You can ask us to take it down at any time.

What you are promising when you submit

• The work is yours, and anyone who helped is credited as an author
• Anything you borrowed is cited
• The results are real, since fabricated or manipulated data is the one thing that will get a paper withdrawn without discussion
• If a model wrote part of it you say which part, because using AI tools is fine and common, while presenting their output as your own reasoning is not
• You have the right to publish it, including any permission you need from a school, employer, or mentor

What we are promising back

A student will read your submission and write back, usually within a couple of weeks, and neither submitting nor reading costs anything. We will not put your paper behind a paywall, sell it, or use it to train anything.

We are also clear about the limits of that process. Our review is a careful read by a student, not formal academic peer review, and the about page explains that in more detail. A SAIRC publication should not be described as peer reviewed in the sense an academic journal means that phrase.

Posting on the forum

The forum is for AI, machine learning, and the business of getting into research. We remove posts that are plagiarised, advertising, harassment, or deliberately misleading, and we will remove an account that keeps posting them. There is no formal appeals process, since there are only a few of us, but you are welcome to email and we will look at it again.

Reusing our work

The guides and papers on this site stay with their authors. You are free to read, print, and share them, and to quote them with attribution. Ask before republishing something in full or using it commercially, and we will usually say yes.

What we do not promise

The site is run in our spare time and provided as it is, which means things occasionally break, the review queue backs up around exams, and links rot. Nothing published here is professional, financial, medical, or legal advice, including the AI literacy material, and we are not liable for what you do with it.
